The productions of Ill Slim Collin taste like a mix of Westcoast Flavour, G-Funk, Modern Funk, Chill Hop, Trip Hop and Soul. He decided to call his music "Grime Funk" as a homage to the genre "G-Funk" founded by Above the Law. "Grime Funk" leave everybody thats openminded, a lasting impression of serious music,  with all the dirt of the streets included. This may be why, or exactly is, why it shines..

Already as a child, he became attentive on his unconditional love and passion for music,
and the fact that he perceived this much more intensly than other children at his age.
Ill Slim Collin was a very skinny and quit child, that makes him a kind of a bully and a outsider and the fact that he was comin fom a broken and weak family relationship, he frequently ran into trouble with the law as a teenager.

He found his love for hip hop in the late 80's early 90's, after a friend gave him some
imported records of his uncle, including legendary artist such as Ice-T, 2 Live Crew and N.W.A.
After finshing highschool with bad grades, he started an apprenticeship but without prospects,
later on he lost the apprenticeship. He found himself in a lot of legal issues.

While starting of rappin', he quickly developed his gift of producing music.
Ill Slim is chiefly inspired by producers like Dj Quik, Barry White (RIP), QD III, Warren G, Chilly Chill, Prince(RIP), Daz Dillinger, Mike Mosley, Johnny J (RIP), Fredwreck, DJ Muggs, Massive Attack and later on artists like Dam Funk.
